We are delighted to announce that His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, will visit The HALO Trust's programme in Angola on September 26 and 27 as part of his African Tour.
A key moment in the trip will see The Duke mark the historic visit of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, to Angola’s second city Huambo in 1997. It was on the visit to Huambo that she drew worldwide attention to the humanitarian crisis caused by landmines.

The Mine Ban Treaty
Countless thousands of lives have been saved by the 1997 global landmine ban that followed the Princess' visit to Angola. The Duke has continued his mother's legacy, in 2011 he visited our programme in Mozambique and in 2013 he traveled to Cuito Cuanavale in Angola on a private trip. On International Mine Awareness Day in 2017, The Duke launched the campaign for a Landmine Free 2025 at a reception at Kensington Palace, London.
